FAQ
Frequently Asked Q's
for who is the trauma bond recovery circle?
The Trauma Bond Recovery Circle is for women who have left an abusive relationship — whether it was overt, covert, or emotionally manipulative — and want to heal in a safe and supportive space.
You don’t need to feel “fully healed” or have it all figured out. This is for you if you feel ready to be part of a small group, and you’re open to receiving support and sharing your story (at your own pace).
It’s also open to women who are preparing to leave and feel emotionally ready to be in a small group setting (max. 6 participants).
Hearing the experiences of others can be a powerful catalyst for clarity and change — but it can also be intense. Explicit details of violence and assault will not be shared in this group, but I’m here to offer additional 1:1 support and resources if you need to.
This space is:
Suitable for women who have already left an abusive relationship
Open to women who are preparing to leave and feel emotionally ready for group work
Not suitable for those in immediate danger or without a private, safe email address
Please note:
If you’re still in the relationship but feel the calling to join, you’re welcome to apply — as long as you’re not in immediate danger and your abuser does not have access to your email.
If you’re still in the relationship, I strongly recommend having 1:1 support alongside the Trauma Bond Recovery Circle — such as therapy, coaching, or reaching out to your local domestic violence center. This space offers community and education, but it is not individual coaching.
For your safety, personalized 1:1 support (including a Danger Assessment, safety planning, and emotional support) is essential, especially when it comes to leaving.
when do the circles take place?
Sessions take place on the last Sunday of each month at 7:00 PM Amsterdam time / 1:00 PM New York time (March–October) or 2:00 PM New York time (November–February).
You can check your time zone here.
For 2025, these are the scheduled dates:
Option 1: Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 PM CEST (Amsterdam) / 1:00 PM EDT (New York)
Option 2: Sunday, October 26 at 7:00 PM CET (Amsterdam) / 1:00 PM EST (New York)
Option 3: Sunday, November 30 at 7:00 PM CET (Amsterdam) / 1:00 PM EST (New York)
Option 4: Sunday, December 28 at 7:00 PM CET (Amsterdam) / 1:00 PM EST (New York)
how are the sessions structured?
After signing up, you’ll receive a short intake form where you can select your preferred dates to join. You’ll also receive the secured Zoom link via email before each session.
Each monthly session lasts 120 minutes on Zoom and includes a short grounding practice, space to listen and share, and gentle guidance on healing topics — like breaking the cognitive dissonance, navigating challenging emotions, or reclaiming your self-worth.
Every Trauma Bond Recovery Circle ends with a Q&A and reflective prompt or tool you can take home with you.
Additionally, you’ll also receive the Trauma Bond Recovery Workbook when you book a single session, or the 3-Month Trauma Bond Recovery Guide when you purchase the 3-Month Package.
To help create a sense of connection and trust, I encourage everyone to keep their camera on if possible. Of course, you’re free to turn it off at any moment if you need a moment for yourself.
what about privacy or sensitive information?
Everything shared in the Trauma Bond Recovery Circle remains confidential.
Participants must agree to a confidentiality agreement before joining. I also personally review each application to ensure the group is a safe and supportive space.
What is the difference between this and therapy?
The Trauma Bond Recovery Circle for Women is not therapy. It’s a women’s support group, held by a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Specialist and Trauma-Informed Facilitator.
You’ll receive trauma-informed education, compassionate support, and community — not clinical treatment. It’s meant to complement, not replace, therapy.
My approach is trauma-informed, grounded in Polyvagal Theory, an in-depth understanding of abusive relationship dynamics and coercive control, and an anti-oppressive lens. This means I recognize that abuse and systemic oppression don’t impact all women equally — whether through race, class, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Most women who join have had, or are currently in, individual therapy or coaching. They are looking for additional support in a space where other women share openly — guided by a trauma-informed and abuse-informed facilitator.
If you’re seeking that kind of support, the Trauma Bond Recovery Circle for Women is here for you.
What are your credentials and expertise?
I’m a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Specialist, Recovery Coach, and Trauma-Informed Facilitator for women.
My work is rooted in Polyvagal Theory by Dr. Stephen Porges, which focuses on feeling safe again, especially after trauma.
It is also grounded in the latest research on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), coercive control, and gender-based violence — particularly the ways in which abuse disproportionately impacts women and girls worldwide.
I use frameworks such as the Power and Control Wheel and uphold a feminist, intersectional lens. That means: no victim-blaming, spiritual bypassing, or pathologizing every survivor as “co-dependent.”
Instead of reducing abuse to “something you attracted,” I help you understand how abusers operate from power and control, and how to reclaim your autonomy.
And perhaps most importantly: I’ve been where you are.
My mission is to offer what I believe truly supports survivors: a trauma-informed and abuse-informed space. Above all, a space that is safe, compassionate, and judgment-free.
What if I’m experiencing post-separation abuse?
Post-separation abuse can be one of the most painful and destabilizing phases of the journey.
Statistically, leaving is the most dangerous time in an abusive relationship, as many abusers escalate their behavior once they feel they’ve lost control.
While the Trauma Bond Recovery Circle offers a supportive community space and more women are dealing with post-separation abuse, this phase often also requires additional 1:1 support to help you stay safe, supported, and resourced.
That might include working with a therapist, legal advocate, or abuse recovery coach alongside joining this space.
You’re also welcome to book extra 1:1 sessions with me to receive more personalized support alongside the group.
what if i am still in contact with my ex?
You’re not alone. Many women are still dealing with contact — whether because of co-parenting, legal or financial issues, practical aspects like housing, or to manipulation.
If you’ve gone No Contact or Low Contact (e.g., because of shared parenting), this space can support you.
However, if you’re still actively stuck in the cycle of abuse and unsure of your safety, it may be more helpful to start with 1:1 support before joining a group.
what if i can't join a session?
Depending on your package, you’re warmly invited to join the next session.
The sessions take place every last Sunday of the month at 7 PM Central European Time (Amsterdam). You can check your time zone here.
3-Month Package:
When you buy the 3-month package, your access is valid for 12 months. If you can’t make it to next month’s session, you’re welcome to join another one within that time frame — no need to stress or explain.
You’re welcome to schedule all three sessions now, or just book the first one and plan the others later.
Single Session:
If you purchase a single session, you can schedule it anytime within 3 months. You’ll select your date when completing the intake form.
Due to the preparation that goes into hosting these circles, once scheduled, single sessions are non-refundable.
Unforeseen circumstances:
If something urgent happens — like illness or an emergency — please let me know 24 hours in advance via info@femkevalerie.com.
I always appreciate clear communication, and we might be able to reschedule your spot depending on the circumstances.
No-shows without further notice can’t be rescheduled.
what if i need more personal support?
If you’re looking for more tailored guidance, I also offer 1:1 abuse recovery coaching. As a Trauma Bond Recovery Circle participant, you’ll have access to 1:1 coaching sessions at a 40% reduced rate.
Some women choose to join my signature program, Reclaim & Rise, which also includes access to the Trauma Bond Recovery Circle.

what if I'm not ready yet for this?
